This is a gorgeous 1890s Era Navy Flat Hat worn by enlisted sailors in the U. S. Navy. This example is perfect for issue during the Spanish American War, and still retains the cap tally reading U. S. NAVY. The interior bears a logo for Ralphs located at 133 Sands St., Brooklyn, New York, although it is rather faint. This is very rare, the first flat hat we have ever seen with a makers mark.
